You’ll be immersed in the lifestyle, history and heritage of this beautiful village. Your friendly registered guide will tell you stories of the history of the area, the town and the stories of the people who shaped this town.
The routes are not technical, a low fitness level is adequate as the focus is on fun.
Not strenuous, but has to be able to ride a bicycle. Route approx. 5km, but not continuous. Guide will stop continuously to talk about specific locations in town.
We have a limited amount of kids’ bicycles. Please call to check for availability.
Pax have to be able to ride a standard adult size bicycle. Back pedal break system. No Gears.
Mountain bikes are available at an additional cost of R80.

As I was the only person who booked for the time slot I was fortunate to enjoy an exclusive experience. My guide, Marchelle, is friendly and very knowledgeable about the town, its history and fascinating stories about the inhabitants. I met some of the Friends of the Museum, enjoyed coffee and milktart. When in Montagu again, I will book another tour to hear some of the stories once more. My husband and I booked this cycling experience whilst staying in Montagu. It was super fun. Marchelle was a very engaging and knowledgable guide. We learnt plenty about the history of Montagu, the architecture and the vibrant art scene. One of the highlights was having coffee with Hannah (one of the local artists) in her home (thank you Hannah for hosting us).
