ADDO ELEPHANT NAT PARK & BHEJANE GAME RESERVE

2 Day all inclusive private safari of the Greater Addo Elephant National Park and Great Karoo. Learn more about the breathtaking biodiversity of the 3rd largest national park in South Africa.
The original elephant section of the park was proclaimed in 1931, when only eleven elephants remained in the area. Today this finely-tuned ecosystem is home to one of the densest elephant populations on earth, with over 700 elephant, lion, buffalo, the endangered black rhino, spotted hyena, leopard, a variety of antelope and zebra species, as well as the unique Addo flightless dung beetle, found almost exclusively in Addo. The park can exclusively claim to be the only national park in the world to conserve the “Big 7” – the Big 5 as well as the southern right whale and great white shark off the Algoa Bay coast. Plans are currently afoot to include the proposed proclamation of a 120 000 ha (296 500 acre) Marine Protected Area which includes islands that are home to the world’s largest breeding populations of Cape gannets and second largest breeding population of African penguins. This 2 day tour encompasses the very best of the area’s wildlife and sights.

ITINERARY
DAY 1:
Addo Elephant Park – Bhejane Game Reserve

Meet and greet at 07h30 at your place of residence in Port Elizabeth.

We depart immediately for the malaria free Addo Elephant National Park that is only a short 35 minutes away.
The Park is famous for its population of close to 700 African Elephants, herds of Buffalo, Lions and Leopard amongst the many species of antelope, Zebra and Warthog as well as the rich and diverse bird and reptile life that inhabit this expanded National Park, one of the most popular in South Africa. After entering, we check in and immediately start our game viewing experience searching for the many and diverse creatures in the thickets and on the open plains while learning about the habitat in which they live.
We stop at the main camp to take a delicious lunch and a drink at the parks restaurant.
After lunch we head back into the park to continue our game drive.
After our game drive we head out towards Bhejane Game Reserve. (4 star)
Upon arrival we check in and freshen up.
We take our delicious meal at their Lodge for the evening, before settling in for the evening under the stunning Karoo night sky encrusted with a billion sparkling stars.

DAY 2:
Bhejane Game Reserve – Port Elizabeth
Early morning wake. After breakfast at the Lodge we depart for a morning Giraffe Tracking on foot experience and game walk on this private reserve, as this is the best time to view the animals.
The reserve is home to Buffalo, Giraffe, including a wide variety of antelope.
The colorful birdlife is a hall mark of the reserve and many reptiles can be spotted in the hills and plains of this wonderful reserve.
We return to the Lodge for a well-deserved cold beverage.
We start making our way back, towards Port Elizabeth stopping at Daniell’s Cheetah Project for a guided tour. Stopping en route for lunch as we head towards Port Elizabeth.
