Our 10-year wedding anniversary was truly magical, and we couldn't have asked for a more unforgettable experience. We decided to celebrate this milestone by visiting the Elephant and Monkey Sanctuaries in Hartbeespoortdam, and it exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the warmth and professionalism of the well-trained tour guides set the tone for an extraordinary day. The Elephant Sanctuary was nothing short of breathtaking---getting up close with these gentle giants was humbling and awe-inspiring. Our 2-year-old daughter was absolutely captivated, her little hands eagerly reaching out to interact with the elephants, creating memories we'll cherish forever. The Monkey Sanctuary was another highlight, especially for our daughter, who giggled with delight during the monkey walk. Watching her joy and curiosity as she explored the natural surroundings with these playful creatures was priceless. A heartfelt thank you to the sanctuary for making our special day even more memorable. This team is amazing. They assisted me in getting engaged with the elephants at the sanctuary and managed to make it effortless and special. The whole team was extremely helpful and ready to assist from the security at the parking area, right through to the tour guide taking you through the park. Absolutely incredible experience. We will definitely be back. A little expensive for South Africans... So we will have to save up a bit! But the experience is worth it... - Janine

I wanted to give a good review but given the current situation I feel I can't do it. I took my wife to the sanctuary on the 16th of March as part of our anniversary weekend getaway. Booked a 10am slot to take a walk with the elephants and interact with them. Just before we started our interaction walk we opted for a recorded video of our experience at a charge of R280. I provided my e-mail that was requested and paid for the video after our tour was done. After sending an enquiry a week later as I did not receive the download link as promsed for which my e-mail as was required I got no answer. I phoned a week later and gave my e-mail address again, gave the required details of when we were there, what time had our tour and my contact number......a week later and still have not a heard a word from anybody, not received an e-mail or anything. It is sad really because we really enjoyed the tour but it is now marred with the unpleasantness of having paid for something special and not received what I paid for. And sadly this review is not going to change anything because no one at the The Elephant Sanctury is going to read it and try to help resolve the issue. - Wayne
